June 18, 2015 – Painting the full body
The full body has been painted with color and the first coat of clear, and the rest of the panels have received color. The next order of business will be a lot of wet sanding, then additional coats of clear to finish it up. While it may look close to done, there’s a lot more work ahead to remount the panels, fit everything up, wet sand, clear coat again, wet sand again, polish, and repair any last imperfections.
The engine is far from complete, which is probably a good thing since I won’t be ready for it for another several months. At the moment, based on Bill’s progress, I should be taking the Mustang home in about two weeks. Get excited!
